Sustainability at Lasessor La

Responsibility at Lasessor La

When you hold a Lasessor product in your hands, there is always a person behind it who wanted to design a high-quality, sustainable, and timeless product for you.

Designed in Finland - timeless and sustainable accessories

Lasessor La products are designed in Finland to withstand time and use. The design is based on longevity, functionality, and timeless Nordic design. We want to offer products that combine high quality, timeless design, and more responsible material choices.

We consider responsibility throughout the entire product lifecycle – from design to material choices, production, packaging, and deliveries. Our goal is to create accessories that remain in use and loved for years. Our long experience in the accessory field and close collaboration with our partners enable the development of high-quality and responsible products.

Responsible material choices and fibers

We prefer materials that are durable, pleasant to use, and of high quality. Our selection aims to use natural materials and cellulose-based fibers, such as:

  • Linen
  • Wool
  • Silk
  • Lyocell

We choose materials that are known for their durability and comfort of use.

Lyocell is a wood-based fiber whose production process recycles solvents in a closed loop.
Linen is a natural fiber that requires less water to grow than cotton.

We continuously monitor the development of new, more ecological fibers and recycled materials and incorporate them into our collections whenever possible.

Carefully selected materials extend the lifecycle of the products. They withstand time, are suitable for reuse, and also delight their next user.

Production, origin, and supply chain

Our products are manufactured in Italy, India, and China. The suppliers we choose are usually located close to the production of raw materials, which helps keep supply chains short. We avoid exporting raw materials from production countries in an unprocessed form, ensuring that the livelihoods of the local population are not jeopardized.

We collaborate with certified manufacturers. We strive to ensure that our suppliers comply with international auditing systems such as BSCI or SMETA (about 90% currently) and that production meets the requirements of the EU REACH chemical regulation.

We are continuously developing our production towards more responsible practices. For example, we utilize digital printing, which consumes less water, energy, and materials than traditional methods. This allows us to reduce waste material and optimize production volumes.

Quality is a key part of responsibility. Every product goes through quality assurance steps before delivery. The quality level we require exceeds general standards, which ensures that our products have a long lifespan.

Our operations and certifications

All areas of our operations are located in an environmentally friendly Fashion Center in Vantaa, where environmental impacts are minimized through geothermal heating, a green roof, and modern water and waste management solutions. We sort and recycle our waste.

In our operations, we adhere to certified systems:

  • ISO 9001 – quality management system

  • ISO 14001 – environmental management system

  • ISO 45001 – occupational health and safety

All our products must meet our quality requirements. Our own design and product development team works closely with our suppliers during the product development process to ensure that the end result is as sustainable and high-quality as possible.

Lasessor La employs in Finland both directly and through the sales of our products, and our impact extends to hundreds of stores both in Finland and abroad. We want to be a responsible and encouraging employer, where a skilled and committed team plays a central role in the development of our products.

Responsibility is an ongoing development process

We believe in timeless design. When a product withstands use and time, its environmental impact is spread over a longer period.

Responsibility is not a single act for us, but an ongoing process and development work, and we actively monitor the EU's sustainable development guidelines for the textile industry.

Our goal is to continuously develop our operations and be a responsible choice for both people and the environment.
